Scattered Servants in Lockdown

Dover Vineyard

Dover Vineyard is a new church plant and lockdown is certainly not what they were expecting in their first year of planting! We chatted to Senior Pastors, Dave and Laura to find out what they’ve been getting up to.

“Lockdown has been an incredible opportunity for us to be a church of scattered servants, ready to serve our town wherever and however we can. On Sunday mornings, before our Zoom church gatherings, a small number of us have been going onto the streets of Dover – taking hot drinks to the homeless, praying for healing for people who are sick and picking up rubbish that’s been left behind. It has been a real adventure as we’ve asked God to partner with us to bring life to our community!

Last Sunday one ten-year-old prayed for a gentleman who had lost complete movement in his arm after a stroke several years ago… he’s already excited to go back next week to see if the gentleman will have returned movement and be pain-free! The same boy was also given £10 by a gentleman walking the streets, and with a generous heart, he gave it to a homeless man who we’ve been building a relationship with over the last five weeks.

We are looking to do all we can to provide opportunities for our church to play and to see God at work in our beautiful town.”
