Forty Families Fed in Oxford

Hope Vineyard Oxford

At the start of lockdown, Hope Vineyard Church in Oxford launched ‘Food Boxes’. They partnered with Tyndale Community School to support struggling families in need of food during the pandemic – due to self-isolation, low income and job loss.

Over the past few months, they have delivered 752 food boxes to 40 different families in Oxford each week! Each food box is for a family of four and has enough food for three meals a day, seven days a week. To fund this, £25,000 was given to Food Boxes by local people during lockdown (helped by gift aid!)

You can watch the video below to find out how Hope Vineyard Church has been working with school staff and volunteers to make this happen!

The school year is now over, and so Food Boxes partnership with the school has now come to an end, but Hope Vineyard Church is excited that Food Boxes will continue to run, no longer partnering with the school, but with a local church and charity!

Do you have a story of what you’ve been doing in your community through lockdown? We’d love to hear from you! Email us at [email protected].
