It is our hope that all of the emerging pastoral leaders in our movement are able to navigate the intense challenge of ministry in a confusing and chaotic world with theological rigour and acumen. We, therefore, offer two routes for theological training.

Vineyard Theological Training is a brand new series of filmed modules created to help train and equip you in the richness of the Bible and the Kingdom of God.

We also are thrilled to partner with WTC, an accredited theological training college with 13 HUBs around the UK and Ireland. We wholeheartedly commend their courses, all of which are part-time and accessible for those from all kinds of educational backgrounds.

Vineyard Theological Training is a brand new series of filmed modules created to help train and equip you in the richness of the Bible and the Kingdom of God.

Through these films, you will hear from some of the brightest theological minds in the Vineyard, and as you watch these our hope is that you will see the beauty of the Bible being unlocked and unpacked.

There are ten modules to choose from, each designed to be watched and discussed in small groups over a period of eight weeks.

You can access all ten modules and start watching immediately by purchasing a monthly theology subscription for only £12.99. Based on the eight-week plan, you can complete a module for just £26.

We recognise that the subscription option might not work for everyone and so each Theological Training module can also be purchased for an individual price of £30.

Designed for Small Groups

The new platform is made up of ten modules, each designed to be studied in small groups over eight weeks. In each week there are two teaching blocks, one to watch at home and one to watch in your group. Each of those teaching blocks is between 20-25 minutes long.

The ten modules are hosted by Alice Meads (Senior Associate Pastor at Vineyard Church Cardiff), created specifically for this movement and delivered by a number of Vineyard legends.

All the group discussion guides, participation guide and course materials are available to download once you’re signed up, and videos are included in the training platform so you can easily cast them to your TV and watch them together in your small group.

Alexander Venter

Alexander Venter was ordained in 1975 as a pastor with the Assembly of God. He worked with John Wimber, in California in 1982, and has been a Vineyard pastor ever since, based in South Africa.

Steve Nicholson

Steve Nicholson is the founding pastor of Evanston Vineyard, Chicago. He has served the Vineyard movement for 40 years training church leaders around the world.

Tom Thompson

Tom Thompson is Senior Pastor at Croydon Vineyard, having planted the church with his wife Lesley in 2013.

Brittany Kim

Dr. Brittany Kim is an Old Testament scholar, and professor of Old Testament at North Park Theological Seminary. She’s also co-director of Every Voice: a Center for Kingdom Diversity in Christian Theological Education.

Ted Kim

Ted Kim is Senior Pastor of Evanston Vineyard, Chicago.

Derek Morphew

Derek Morphew is the founding pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Kenilworth, Cape Town, South Africa. He is also Academic Dean of the Vineyard Institute.

WTC

All WTC programmes are part-time and in Kingdom Theology. Selecting the right programme for you will depend on your prior qualifications and your goals, defining your personal admissions experience. You can study either Undergraduate courses (CertHE, BA, or GradDip) or Postgraduate MA courses.

WTC have top quality teaching faculty who serve on the front lines of business, ministry, and mission around the world. Their classes are places of theological depth and invitation for the Spirit, and their teachers are there to help you make the connection between all of life and the Kingdom of God.

VCUKI and WTC

Sponsorship Scheme

For all students looking to study an accredited course with WTC there is a cost involved. This is around £4250 / year.

Our heart is to make this option of development available to everyone regardless of their background and financial circumstances. The generous offering taken last year at VLG means that we are now in a position where we can launch our WTC sponsorship scheme.

This works as a three way partnership between the individual, their local church and the movement. Each partner pays a third of the overall cost for each student who is successful in their application - this is roughly £1400.

Who is the WTC Sponsorship Scheme for?

The sponsorship scheme is specifically designed for people whose financial circumstances would preclude them from participating in study. The application process assesses a prospective student’s financial status and their local church leadership and investment. Applications will be assessed and sponsorship places awarded based on the merit of the evidence submitted.

How do I apply?

Before applying we ask all potential applicants to have a conversation with their Senior Pastor(s). This ensures that every aspect of the sponsorship partnership is involved before applications are made. Once you’ve done this and your pastor(s) are happy for you to apply you should contact the Training team via [email protected] to receive an application form.

Applications for the 2024-25 intake will open in January and applications can be accessed via your senior pastor. The deadline for applications is 14th June.
