Story Roundup: July 2019

Stories from across the movement

Throughout July, we shared various stories of what God has been doing across the movement in The UK & Ireland. We’ve gathered them below and hope they encourage you!

Parkrun Healing (Carrickfergus, N.Ireland)

We received an amazing story about a woman being healed after receiving prayer from someone at Carrickfergus Vineyard. We love that individuals are stepping out in their everyday to see the Kingdom come in their local communities!

Healing Hearts (Coleraine, N.Ireland)

A lady from Causeway Coast Vineyard was healed following prayer from children at a Sunday service!

5 Stories of Lives Changed (Edinburgh)

Kate and Ben Newman moved from Leeds with their two boys to plant Edinburgh Vineyard in September 2017. Their vision is to see people from all walks of life encountering Jesus – which in practise looks like them partnering with God in their everyday lives. We caught up with them and were so encouraged to hear incredible stories of people giving their yes to Jesus, being healed and getting plugged into community. They shared five short stories with us which you can read in full here.

Encountering Jesus on the streets of London (Feltham, London)

Riverside Vineyard Church in Feltham have recently sent teams onto the streets of multiple communities in London to bring hope to their city by telling people about Jesus. Steve and Lucy Barclay were excited to share how teams have been regularly sent to Feltham, Hounslow and Staines, as well as further afield including Basingstoke. They explained,

“We head out once a month for two hours on a Saturday to share the gospel and invite people to open their hearts to Jesus. On some Saturdays, we’re seeing between 20-30 people invite Jesus into their hearts on the streets of London.

Kids Hearing God’s Voice (London, N.Ireland & Birmingham)

In the Vineyard, we believe everybody gets to play including our kids! We want to see them pray for the sick, hear from God & lead people to Jesus. Recently we’ve heard some exciting stories including kids praying for freedom, receiving pictures from God, seeing angels and seeing Jesus in dreams.

I had a dream about Jesus talking to me and he said, ‘If you’re a child, you can be a hero, if you’re little, you can save big. If you’re not powerful, just a little child, you can still overcome huge things.’

You can read all about the stories here.

Kingdom Living in our Every Day (Feltham)

In the Vineyard we believe that God can and does heal people. As followers of Jesus, sons and daughters of the King, we carry his authority to pray for healing wherever we are – whether we’re working, shopping or out in our communities. One man from Riverside Vineyard stepped out in faith in his every day and offered to pray for his neighbour’s whiplash.

1000 Hours (Norwich)

“We thought no one cared”.  These were the words of a prison officer after being reduced to tears from the kindness shown by Gateway Vineyard in Norwich, as their ‘1000 Hours’ revolution blessed ambulance drivers, school teachers and NHS staff. You can hear all about what they got up to here.

We’ve loved hearing so many stories over the last month! If you have a story from your church that you’d love to share, please email us here.
