Streaming Live Worship

*UPDATED FEBRUARY 2021* As we face a new reality for how the church worships together, this resource has been put together to explain the legalities around licensing worship songs, audio tracks and Multi Tracks as you stream your services.

CCLI Church Streaming Licence and Church Streaming Plus Licence

Many churches are already live streaming their worship. To do this legally, you must purchase a ‘Church Streaming Licence’ or the brand new ‘Church Streaming Plus Licence’ from CCLI (Church Copyright Licensing International). Purchase licences via their online store or over the phone: +44(0)1323 436100.

Use of Vineyard Worship master recordings (audio tracks)

CCLI’s new ‘Streaming Plus’ licence covers you for streaming Vineyard Worship UK & Ireland and Vineyard Worship USA master recordings (audio tracks) as part of your online service. The ‘Streaming Plus’ licence also covers you for use of backing tracks and stems rented/purchased from platforms like and Loop Community. All song, track and multitrack usage is easily reported using CCLI’s online reporting tool.

YouTube or Facebook Live

If you are live streaming using YouTube or Facebook, the CCLI Church Streaming Licence is all that you need and you do not need another license from PRS For Music.

However, if you are streaming using another platform, then you also need the PRS Limited Online Music Licence (LOML) which is available to purchase here.

CCLI Church Copyright Licence

This is a licence which every church needs, regardless of live streaming.

The CCLI® Church Copyright Licence™ permits churches to project or print out the words and music to the world’s great worship songs and hymns. With this licence, the church is covered for recording services on behalf of those unable to attend in person. Further, the licence permits the creation of custom musical arrangements where no published version exists. A simple alternative to seeking direct permission from each copyright owner, the Church Copyright Licence is a trusted solution and presently covers more than 24,000 churches in the UK.

Pricing depends on the size of your church.  You can check the pricing that will apply to you here:
