What support is available for me during the course? 

As you go through the year you will have a course facilitator who will oversee your discipleship year activities and weekly teaching input.  You will also be assigned a support mentor who will offer support and encouragement throughout the year.  Once a term you will have the opportunity to connect with other discipleship year participants online for some time of prayer, community and investment.

What do I do if my Church isn’t running the course? 

You may want to have a conversation with your local leaders and explain your interest in the course. 

Do I have to go to my own church? 

We would encourage you where possible to participate in the year in your own local church.  In circumstances where that is not possible, there may be an opportunity to participate in another Vineyard church.  See the map at the bottom of the ‘Joining a Discipleship Year’ page to find out where courses are running.

I’m the only one doing it in my church, I’m ok with that.  Can I still participate as an individual?

Yes you can.  In some situations it may be possible for churches in close proximity to partner with one another.  This is something you should discuss with your local leaders.  

Is the residential compulsory? 

Yes both residentials are compulsory for all Vineyard Discipleship Year participants. 

  

Does the £750 fee have to be paid in one lump sum? 

No there are three different payment options to cover this fee. 

• 1 lump sum of £750 due in September 
• 3 termly payments of £250 
• 10 monthly payments of £75 (September to the following June) 

What does the £750 cost cover? 

This covers access to all teaching content for the year.  This includes: 

• Two Vineyard Theological Training modules
• Access to 3 terms worth of activation and teaching material designed specifically for discipleship year students.
• The cost also covers all of accommodation and catering for both discipleship year residentials.

How much of the cost includes the regional and national gathering serving moments? 

As these events run in addition to the core discipleship year program they are not included in the course fee.   

Is there any financial support available? 

At this stage there isn’t any financial support available for participants but we would encourage participants to look at fundraising options to support their year.  

Is there any other cost involved other than the course fee? 

Participants will have to cover their own travel to and from the residential AND any national or regional events**  that they choose to attend / serve at.  ** Please note that serving at national and regional events includes a free ticket to the event.    

Is there a global mission opportunity? 

There is no global missions opportunity as part of Vineyard Discipleship Year however it is something we are looking to explore.
