This week marks a significant moment in the story of the Vineyard movement around the world.
As John & Eleanor Mumford come to the end of their season as Vineyard Global Leaders, we want to take a moment to honour and celebrate them.
John & Eleanor have faithfully served within the Vineyard for four decades, planting South West London Vineyard (the first Vineyard church in the UK) in 1987, then from 1996 by leading the Association of Vineyard Churches in the UK & Ireland, and since 2002 through their leadership roles within Vineyard Global.
They have poured their lives into seeing the Vineyard movement grow, churches planted, leaders raised up, and the Kingdom of God advancing around the world.
Through seasons of incredible growth and change, they have consistently carried a deep love for Jesus, the local church, Kingdom values and the mission of God. Their leadership has shaped the Vineyard family in countless ways, and their influence reaches far beyond the roles they have held. They have travelled, taught, prayed, encouraged, championed churches and invested deeply in leaders and people across the nations.
John & Eleanor, thank you for so many years of faithful leadership and for saying yes to God again and again. Thank you for all you have carried, all you have given away, and for the legacy you leave for those who follow.
We honour you, we love you, and we are deeply grateful for you.
As this chapter comes to a close, we’re excited to welcome John & Debby Wright as the next Vineyard Global Leaders.
John and Eleanor said: “We are convinced that God has called John & Debby to this task. Their deep love for the Vineyard movement and their proven high-calibre leadership make them very well suited for this role. We are confident they will lead the global Vineyard family with wisdom, grace, and pioneering instincts which will see the movement grow and thrive in the years to come.”
Alongside their new global role, John & Debby will continue to serve as National Directors of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland, supported by the Vineyard Leadership Team.
