DTI 2020: Postponed

Coronavirus Update

Watch the video below for an update from the Dreaming The Impossible team.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the postponement of our summer Dreaming the Impossible event.  The coronavirus has impacted us all in so many ways and putting on a large event, like DTI, with the current restrictions and the wide-ranging implications of this, means that we cannot gather together in August this year.

This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, and we have done so with the highest regard for the health of all the young people, youth leaders and our team who make Dreaming the Impossible happen.

Those of you who have already booked for DTI 2020 can have your ticket transferred to DTI 2021, alternatively, if you would like your money back, we will arrange a full refund.

The 2021 dates are 31st July – 4th August, and we are excited that our planned speakers for 2020 including Mike Pilavachi, Thando Zulu and Laura Hancock will be joining us in 2021.

We are so sorry to those of you who, like us, were excited and expectant about DTI this summer.  Whilst we share your disappointment, we would also want to encourage you at this time because DTI isn’t just about a 4-night event.  We exist to see young people meet Jesus and fearlessly follow him, 365 days a year.

We will keep doing our best to serve you and resource your youth leaders and churches, especially during the lockdown. We’re also exploring if we can gather together in some smaller settings later on in the year if it’s safe to do so.  We can’t wait to welcome you to Staffordshire County Showground in 2021.

We would love you to follow us on social media to hear about our latest news, updates and resources.

Let’s commit to praying for our nations and the world at this time, as we choose to put our trust in the God of the immeasurably more.

Big love to you all from the DTI team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my ticket?

Those of you who have already booked for DTI 2020 can have your ticket transferred to DTI 2021, alternatively, if you would like your money back, we will arrange a full refund.

If you would like to roll your ticket over to 2021, you do not need to do anything. We will be in touch with your updated ticket details.

To request a refund, please contact us in writing by 31st July 2020 by emailing [email protected]. Please be aware that ticket costs for 2021 will be higher than 2020.  Those ticket holders who are transferring their ticket to 2021 will have their 2020 price honoured.

How long will a refund take?

We aim to process your refund within two weeks of you emailing us.

I had volunteered to be a part of the Dream Team, what happens now?

Thank you for being so generous with your time, we really appreciate it and are sad not to be able to gather this summer.  We will need to recruit hundreds of team members for 2021, so if you have already applied to be on the Dream Team 2020 then we would love to move your application to 2021.  Nothing would need to be done except providing us with your DBS update service reference next year. We would love to hear from you so please could you email us at [email protected] to confirm your availability for next year.

If you haven’t applied to be on the Dream Team and would like to for 2021, please check out www.dreamingtheimpossible.org/team.

What about other DTI events?

DTI isn’t just about a 4-night event.  We exist to see young people meet Jesus and fearlessly follow him, 365 days a year.  We are hoping to gather together in some smaller settings, like we have done in the last few years with DTI NANO. We are also exploring some new and exciting options which will be dependent upon government guidelines. We will only meet when it is safe to do so.

When will tickets go on sale for DTI 2021?

Tickets will go on sale, as planned, on 1st August 2020.

The dates for DTI 2021 are 31st July – 4th August.

What else are you doing during the lockdown?

We are doing our very best to resource youth leaders and churches during this time and are continuing to work through a team of regional youth leaders.

Join us live on Instagram at 5pm every Friday for ‘On the Line’: where we call up some of our friends from different youth organisations and movements and chat about faith in the Lockdown.

Head over to Spotify; we have created some Spotify playlists to help you in the Lockdown.  Click here for Lockdown Lift Up and here for Study Sesh.

We’ll also be using our social media channels to bring you some short encouragement from the bible and to keep encouraging us to pray.

Get in touch if you have any fun and creative ideas, to help young people meet with Jesus and follow him.
