Eric shares some thoughts on rethinking church planting strategy and creating missional communities that foster growth.
Eric returned to Vineyard Columbus from the Netherlands in 2015 after planting and serving as Lead Pastor of Vineyard Amsterdam for seven years. Prior to that he spent a decade as pastor of Joshua House, a community of twenty-somethings at Vineyard Columbus. He’s also worked as an intern for Rich Nathan, with Young Life in central Ohio, and on the staff of Liberty Presbyterian Church in Delaware. Eric has a BA in Art Education from OSU and a Master in Theology from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, where he wrote and published a dissertation called “The Secular Mystique.” He rejoined Vineyard Columbus as their Outreach and Connection Pastor, and he spends his time helping them fulfil their mission to love their city. Eric enjoys international traveling, motorcycles, late-night conversations with good friends and Belgian beer. He’s been married for 22 years to Julia, and they have three kids and a Sphynx cat.
