Discipleship Years

Details of churches around the movement who are offering discipleship year opportunities.

Discipleship Years are one way that churches seek to train and equip young people, through providing an environment where they can serve in a range of areas, finishing the year with experience of how a Vineyard church functions and a better idea of the direction for their life.

On this page is a list of those churches who have chosen to advertise their ‘DY’ places nationally.

Winchester Vineyard

Discipleship Year (DY) runs from September to July for those in their 20s to 30s.  It’s a part time programme, typically three days per week (incl Sundays).  The main focus of the year is character development.  Immersing yourself in the church community, you’ll be fully encouraged to step out of your comfort zone as you serve, learn, pray and grow alongside others.

We are particularly looking for people who are keen to serve with our compassion, youth, children & student ministries, but whatever your area of interest, get in touch & tell us about yourself.

City Church Aberdeen

City Church is a large evangelical church in North East Scotland belonging to the Vineyard family.  Since 2011 we have been a multi-site church, meaning that we now do mission, ministry and worship in 7 locations across a 50 mile stretch of our region. Our journey has been marked by the grace and kindness of God and we have seen lots of people not previously connected with the Lord, or with his Church encounter the life-changing message of the Gospel.

We believe that God has called us to play our part in writing a new future for the Church in Scotland. We are kept awake at night by a vision to launch new expressions of our church all over our region, and to plant new churches throughout Scotland.

Our commitment to this call and to this vision is the creation of the Leadership Academy through which we look to invest, equip and release emerging leaders into the fullness of all that God has for them. It is our heart that all of us would be living lives that pursue a wholehearted commitment to knowing, building and seeking: Christ, His Church and the Lost.

The course runs from September to June and is open to anyone over the age of 21 who has a specific sense of call to leadership.
