In this first session from The Cause to Live For 2011, Jay talks on the topic of 'Fear or Faith.'

Jay Pathak is the Senior Pastor of the Mile High Vineyard USA. Prior to planting the church in 2001, he served as a leader in the Columbus Vineyard’s young-adult ministry, Joshua House, and as an intern to the senior pastor, Rich Nathan, in Columbus, Ohio.

He has spoken nationally and internationally for Vineyard and other groups in both conference and classroom settings. Currently, he serves as the Regional Church Planting Coordinator for the Rocky Mountain region of the Vineyard.

In addition, Jay created the Engage video series with Carl Medearis – a tool that helps create space to discuss the person and teachings of Jesus. This seven-week course is designed to assist the Church in reaching out to those who are interested in exploring Jesus in a non-threatening environment.

Jay has a BA in Philosophy from The Ohio State University and is a graduate of the Vineyard Leadership Institute. He and his wife, Danielle, have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful daughters, Jasmine and Sofia.

John and Eleanor Mumford are the National Directors of the Vineyard movement in the United Kingdom & Ireland. Having studied theology at St Andrews and at Cambridge, John married Eleanor in 1978 and they have two sons, James and Marcus.

They worked for nearly two years with John Wimber on the staff of the Anaheim Vineyard in California before planting the SW London Vineyard in 1987. They handed over the leadership of that church in 2008 in order to concentrate more upon the oversight and development of the movement both nationally and internationally.

Mary Pytches is married to Bishop David Pytches. Together with their four girls they spent seventeen years in South America as missionaries. When they returned to England they led the church of St Andrew’s, Chorleywood also pioneering the New Wine and Soul Survivor conferences.

Mary’s major interest has been to develop a pastoral prayer ministry in the local church, whilst also writing almost as many books as she has grandchildren, on subjects relating to personal growth. In their retirement Mary and David are kept busy with their growing family, while making time for writing and speaking around the world.

Robby and his wife Angie have 6 boys. He is a fifth generation pastor who was born to missionary parents in Japan. Robby had served as a youth pastor for 12 years for churches between 50 to12,000 members before he and Angie planted a Vineyard church in the downtown area of Aurora, Illinois,14 years ago. Their church consists of people from all walks of life, including gang members, drug addicts and prostitutes. Yet God has shown up to powerfully change these people’s lives through this pastor and church. 70% of their church came to Christ there and 60% of them through power encounters (prophetic, healing, deliverance or ministry of God’s manifest presence).

He talked about human trafficking – the world’s second largest illegal trade. Joining him were Shatterbox Theatre Company who, fresh from the Edinburgh Festival, who presented excerpts from Fair Trade, which told the remarkable stories of two very different female survivors of the British sex slave trade.

A 4th generation preacher, Simon came to a personal faith in his late teens. He became an evangelist, street preacher and church planter in his early 20s, before preparing for Anglican ordination at Trinity College Bristol.

In 2005 he became Pastor of Theology at St Aldates church, which involved teaching theology, writing and entering a wider itinerant teaching ministry. In all his ministry, he is passionate about combining Word with Spirit. Simon is married to Tiffany, a school teacher, artist and wonderful mother of their two sons Joel and Nathanael. Often we come to Jesus full of expectation and excitement when we become Christians and then it’s as though we settle for far less than what God has for us. It is vital to grasp that He didn’t call us to where we are so we could settle down and live comfortable lives in superficial peace. Our lives as Christians should be marked by continual surrender and obedience to Jesus. It’s all about trusting in Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn’t come through. David is the founding pastor of ChristChurch London and leads the Newfrontiers UK team. Previously he started churches in Bedford and Birmingham and has trained church planters in the UK and internationally. He is passionate about building churches that engage effectively with the surrounding culture, both in terms of winning the lost, and shaping communities.

Steve and his wife, Juliet, lead Leicester City Vineyard. They head up church planting for VCUKI which involves training and equipping emerging leaders for life in ministry. This interview will look at birds-eye view into the life of a church planter - the good, the great and the ugly.

Jon is married to Sandra and has two teenage daughters. He is formerly the Senior Pastor of Yarm Vineyard church and they are now pioneering a new church in central London. He is a passionate football fan and founder of the Lionsraw charity. Currently Jon is also the UK Director of More Than Gold.

Jim and Korenne are the Team Leaders for Canterbury Vineyard in Kent. Jim grew up in Southern California with a passion for sports, in particular "baseball." He obtained a Master of Arts in NT Theology at Talbot School of Theology and has been in vocational ministry since 1991 in all kinds of streams and denominations. He and Korenne were married in 1999, moved to the UK in 2003 and were on staff at Soul Survivor Watford and St Albans Vineyard before moving to Canterbury to plant in 2007.
