Review of 2011 part 3: July to September

Dec 19, 2011

2011 was a year of firsts. Our first National Women’s Conference, our first Vineyard National Celebration, the first time that the National Leaders’ Conference was held at Trent Vineyard and our first Emerging Leaders’ Conference.

It was such an exciting year that we’ve put together a rundown of 2011 in four parts, in case you missed any of it. Here's part three, covering July, August and September; you can also read parts two and three on this website, part four is coming soon.

July

July is traditionally when many church planters are relocating to new towns, cities and communities in preparation to start new churches in September. This year we have seen God moving people, as we begin or prepare to plant in a host of new locations.

August

Whilst everyone was on holiday, we were planning for upcoming events, particularly The Cause to Live For conference which was happening in October at Trent Vineyard, Nottingham. So tickets went on sale for this event for students, 20s and 30s, and despite the traditionally quiet holiday period, these began flying out, for what was set to be a great event.

This year we looked forward to welcoming Jay Pathak, Senior Pastor of the Mile High Vineyard in Denver, Colorado.

On the Saturday afternoon we would be running streams looking at different tasks and ministries identified in the bible. We also looked how we grow in areas such as teaching from the bible, sharing our faith, pastoring people, growing in the prophetic, and church planting. Streams were to be led by James Rankine, Libby Woodward, Steve Barber, Jon Clarke, Jason Clarke and John White.

Outside of the main sessions we left lots of space to chat to others from around the movement and share dreams and stories.

September

As children headed back to school and the church calendar picked up after the summer break, we put tickets on sale for the 2012 National Leaders’ Conference.

John and Eleanor Mumford said of the 2012 NLC:

“Following our first, and very successful Vineyard National Celebration in May, we will be looking in more depth at the themes of church development, church planting and mission

The conference is once again being hosted by Trent Vineyard in Nottingham and although the change to a venue-only format last year was a little unfamiliar to us, the overwhelming view was that it was a resounding success, and we are delighted that Trent has agreed to have us back again this year.

A galaxy of speakers will include Alan Scott (Causeway Coast Vineyard), Jim Denison (Canterbury Vineyard) and Jon Burns (Yarm Vineyard), as well as Debby Wright (Trent Vineyard), Eleanor Mumford, John Mumford, Noah Gitau from the Vineyard in Kenya, Tope Koleoso from Jubilee Church, Enfield, and Robby Dawkins, a new-found friend from the Aurora Vineyard in Illinois."
