Vineyard Churches

Church Planting About

Vineyard Churches is a Church Planting movement, working across the UK & Ireland to plant new Churches and support those plants.

Why Plant Churches?

The Vineyard is a church planting movement with a mandate from God to plant churches worldwide. Jesus said: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go..."

We believe that we have been called to this great commission to go out to people in our local communities with the message of Jesus that produces people who look and act like Him.

In our post Christian society we believe the best way to do this is to plant new Christian communities across the United Kingdom and beyond. We call these communities the Church.

So, we are looking for men and women who have heard this call from God, who are willing to be trained as church planters and give all for His mission.

How we Plant
Training

We believe that disciples are trained, not born. Jesus had a conscious, single-minded plan to train the twelve disciples in his way of life, and this resulted in the gospel spreading worldwide.

Church Planters are called by God just as the disciples were called; it is at this point that the training process begins. We want to train and educate our church planters to communicate the Bible in a relevant and practical way so that our communities can find Jesus and be transformed by his love and mercy. We train our potential church planters both theologically and practically using both the classroom and practical ministry settings in the local church.

Equipping

Equipping is more than education. It is not sufficient to just know about the Bible, we must be able to live it and do it. People are equipped by seeing ministry modelled.

Jesus modelled ministry while others watched. He then let them have a go while he watched and gave encouragement; he then left them to serve, moving on. We believe this is a Biblical model for discipleship and equipping church planters.

Equipping is the practical training aligning with the supernatural anointing of the Spirit that produces disciples.

Assessing

Are we all called to plant churches? Obviously not! We want to help people find their place within the church. If it is church planting, we want to give them the best possible platform for success. During training we assess our potential church planters both in the local church setting and in using a national assessment process before any church plant is released.

Sending

We believe that the local church is the hope of our world! It is in the local church that people meet Jesus, are trained and from this base they are sent.

We send Church Planters as single people or couples. Usually a small team accompanies them, sometimes even a whole congregation of people, but we always send from the local church. It is from this foundation that ongoing training, care and relationship are maintained.

Growth

It is our hope that as congregations are started they will grow into established churches that represent Jesus in the community for many years or until He returns.
