About Greg
Greg Thompson became Senior Pastor of Trinity Church, Charlottesville in 2006. His primary responsibilities in this role are providing spiritual and strategic oversight to their staff and leadership, preaching and other forms of public leadership for their congregation, and interacting on behalf of their church in their larger community.
As an expression of this work, Greg also serves as the Executive Director for New City Commons, a Christian educational organization that seeks to support Christian institutional leaders as they labour to embody faith and seek the common good in a secular age. Greg holds a PhD in Theology, Ethics, and Culture from the University of Virginia and an MDiv from Covenant Theological Seminary.
He and his wife, Courtney, live with their neighbors in the City Parish, where they are raising three daughters and one son.
