We have over 100 Churches across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, with new churches being planted on a regular basis. For more details on new church plants please visit our church planting pages.
The missions task force was set up early in 2011 to bring together the missions activity of the UK and Ireland Vineyards and to give vision and direction going forward.
It currently comprises of Bruce Gilmore, Jon Franklin and Andrew Myatt under the covering of Rick and Lulu Williams.
There is an amazing amount of resources going into overseas missions both in time and finances which is very encouraging, however there seems to be little connection between both Vineyards here and also with our worldwide Vineyard family. We have also realised that the majority of the focus is on relief and development i.e. orphanages, social projects etc and whilst we encourage and applaud this we also want to "press the peddle" on church planting and raising up an indeginious church from which the social action can be managed.
There are currently four UK partnerships where churches come together and combine their efforts. These are India, Sri Lanka, East Africa and a closed country. There are also many other partnerships that the USA have and we desire to where possible join up our efforts.
One of the values that we have established is "communication and co-operation" in that we desire to foster open and transparent communication and co-operation with the local leadership of Vineyards in the nations we go to, to build relationship with the Vineyard churches there and assist them in what they are doing. We desire to be a blessing to the host countries and this has not always been the case, especially when we have been working with other organisations in the same locality as a Vineyard church and them not being aware of our visit until we are there or worse afterwards.
We are looking to establish missions people in each area to communicate and feed back what is going on throughout the country and we will be updating you with events and changes as they develop.
If you would like to feed into the taskforce we would welcome your input.
